The 3 Kings Route is a tourist route that invites travelers to discover the attractions of three towns united by history in a shared experience<\/b>. It is a circular route<\/b> that winds around the natural area of the Els Ports Massif<\/b> and connects the municipalities of Alca\u00f1iz (in Aragon), Morella<\/b> (in the Valencian Community), and Tortosa<\/b> (in Catalonia), which become the three stages of this itinerary. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The 3 Kings Route runs through a territory where three different autonomous communities converge, a corner of the map that for centuries has served as a meeting point for three entities<\/b> whose economic, social, and cultural exchange has been a constant throughout the years.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This shared history is reflected, among other episodes, in a splendid medieval past<\/b>, when the three territories were united under the reign of the Crown of Aragon<\/b>. From that era, monumental traces remain in the form of castles, walls, churches, and other buildings<\/b>, as well as artistic displays whose importance and uniqueness promise to surprise visitors. But that’s not all; today, Alca\u00f1iz, Morella, and Tortosa have become towns with their own character<\/b>, an intense cultural activity, a rich gastronomic offering, and a wonderful natural environment that positions them as ideal destinations to enjoy without haste and ready to be captivated. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

A legendary route<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This route borrows its name from 3 Kings peak in one of the mountains of the Els Ports massif, a natural area where the territories of the Autonomous Communities of Aragon, Valencian Community, and Catalonia converge. This is the summit of the Tozal del Rey, which in Catalan is called the Tossal dels 3 Reis (the Tozal of the 3 Kings) in reference to an ancient legend<\/b>. The story goes that it was precisely here where, for years, the highest representatives of the three territories held their meetings, so that to meet, none of the three needed to leave their domains. Whether these figures were kings or not is not known for certain. If they were not, it is believed that this would have happened under the reign of the Crown of Aragon (with a single common king but maximum independent authorities for each territory). However, if the legend does indeed refer to kings, it would date back to an even earlier time when it was the Christian king of Aragon, the emir of Tortosa, and the emir of the Taifa of Valencia who had their meeting point there. <\/p>

Although this probably never happened and is more myth than reality, it is a beautiful legend that illustrates a close relationship of coexistence that remains alive despite the years.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
